This website is dedicated to growing and hybridizing plants in the gesneriad family, Gesneriaceae
On the page List of Kohleria cultivars you can find my ongoing project of listing all named cultivars of kohlerias. The list is searchable and extensive, but far from complete.
In it I’ve tried to collect information about the different cultivars parentage, name of the hybridizer, which year it’s been released and whether it’s pollen fertile or not.
Feel free to contact me if you have any information to add or correct in the list.
I’m trying to upload pictures of all of my hybrid seedings when flowering. Most seedlings will not be officially named or distributed but it might be interesting to see all the variation among hybrid plants. You can find all my hybrid seedings on this page.
Hybridizing is a slow but not that difficult hobby as long as you have patience and some space. Everyone can start hybridizing at home given some simple tools most people already have at home, and a basic knowledge of how you do it.
If this sounds interesting, I’ve created this page where I try to explain the basics of hybridizing at home.
