Kohleria ‘AL’s Keiko’ is a tall growing, floriferous plant. The flowers are quite large and produce pollen. This plant comes from a mix of seeds from different unknown crosses made by G. Svensson. My own guess is K. ‘Ryskan’ is part of it’s parentage.

Grown from seed sown in december 2020, this plant grew and flowered during the summer 2021. I’ve used it’s pollen to make a number of crosses. While writing this (November 2021) the seeds from different crosses using ‘AL’s Keiko’ as pollen parent are recently sown but not yet germinated. I hope to get a number of seedlings which may flower during 2022. I really like the robust, Smithiantha-like foliage and the large flowers, but I hope the tendency for backwards facing corolla lobes don’t show up in it’s offspring.
